CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILY MINISTRIES AT SAINT JAMES
SUMMER CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
Children are invited to have extended child-centered Children's Chapel time called
Baobab Blast every Sunday during our 10:15 am service with Emily Killough, our Minister for Children, Youth & Families. Children's Chapel explores themes of trust through African animals and landscape. It begins with a recess after the opening prayers and concludes after Communion.
Growing in Joy, Growing in Faith
At Saint James, we recognize that each individual is wonderfully made by God and children, youth, and families are each making their own unique journeys in faith.
Saint James, as an Episcopal Church is called:
- to receive, nurture, and treasure each child as a gift from God;
- to proclaim the Gospel to children, in ways that empower them to receive and respond to God's love;
- to include children as members and full participants in the church's common life of prayer, witness, and service;
- and to receive children's special gifts as signs of the coming kingdom of heaven.*

We address the spiritual growth and education of children and youth through our Sunday Morning Church School, Children's Chapel, Youth Group Programs, and Family Activities. We have rigorous child protection and safety policies in place and all those who work with children and youth are properly supervised and trained.
