OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPIRITUAL AND COMMUNITY GROWTH

This summer, Saint James will be offering two opportunities for personal spiritual and community growth with an intergenerational mission trip to Elkhorn, West Virginia and a young adult pilgrimage to Taizé, France.

Intergenerational Mission Trip to Elkhorn, West Virginia

June 28-July 3

• Open to adults and youth ages 13 and older
• Youth younger than 15 MUST be accompanied by a parent or grandparent or an adult with a notarized letter giving them guardianship for that week.
• We will be working with the Mennonite Central Committee's Sharing with Appalachian People (SWAP) Program.
• Using the efforts of volunteers, SWAP addresses sub-standard housing in eastern Kentucky and West Virginia. Participants will work for local homeowners "In the name of Christ," sharing the message of God's love and building relationships that serve to enrich all involved.

• Estimated family contribution is $325 per participant*
• Non-refundable deposit of $50 is due by Friday, January 22, 2010

Youth and Young Adult Pilgrimage to Taizé, France

July 23-August 2

• Open to youth and young adults who are in the Young Adults in the Church (YAC) class or are college-aged
• We will join with 4,000 other young adult in the Taizé community for a week of simple living, prayer,
• cross-cultural conversations, theological teachings and wonderings, personal reflection, and fun.

• Estimated family contribution is $1,000 per pilgrim*
• Non-refundable deposit of $200 is due by Friday, January 22, 2010
