HOW CAN I JOIN THE CHOIR?
Simply speak to the Director of Music, Ron Barnett, either after a service or by phone in the Church Office (717-397-4858, ext. 16) or via email to music@stjameslanpa.org. New members are being actively recruited to help "make a joyful noise to the Lord."
HOW MANY CHOIRS DOES SAINT JAMES HAVE?
Currently there is one Chancel choir. A capital campaign for a 3-octave set of handbells will soon be underway. The choirs participates in the 10:15 Sunday service.
WHEN DO THE CHOIRS REHEARSE?
The Chancel choir rehearses at 9:00 on Sunday mornings, with occasional additional rehearsals at other times.
WHAT IS THE SAINT CECILIA CONCERT SERIES?
Typically 8-10 concerts are held each year, ranging from English cathedral choirs to chamber music to Gospel groups. The series is free and open to the public, and a free will offering is taken to help defray the costs of the series. Please contact the Director of Music to become involved.
ARE THERE OTHER SPECIAL PROGRAMS/CONCERTS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?
Yes, the excellent acoustics of Saint James' sanctuary make it a sought after venue for local groups such as high school, college, and other volunteer choruses. Such performances/musical offerings are scheduled as the church calendar permits.
ARE THERE OTHER ARTS PROGRAMS AT SAINT JAMES?
All artistic expressions are welcomed. Artists, dancers, writers, and actors who would like to offer their talents in the context of a worship service should contact Ron Barnett at the Church Office.
